To insure the safety of your bird(s), please supervise when introducing a new bird toy. We highly discourage giving toys to birds that are not from the correct toy size group.
We do not use any products that are harmful to birds or humans, such as glues, paint, zinc, or flavorings (which can encourage birds to ingest bird toy parts).
Bells
We use nickel plated & colored aluminum bells for all X-Small & Small bird toys. We offer powder coated indestructable bells for Medium, Large, & X-large birds.
Bolt Eyes
We use nickel plated bolt eyes for hanging parts. These have the flat ends instead of sharp, pointed ends found on screw eyes.
Chain
We use nickel plated welded chain & bird safe plastic chain on our bird toys.
Coloring
We use FDA approved food coloring on all of our dyed parts.
Leather
All of our leather is vegetable tanned & dyed by us with our FDA approved coloring. Our coloring is discarded after dying leather.
Mirrors
We offer acrylic mirrors on some bird toys. These have been tested with our Amazon & Grey - they have not scratched, chipped, or broken.
Misc. Parts
We use stainless steel studs, washers, & wing nuts on some bird toys. These will be listed in the parts.
Nickel Plated Links
All our Medium, Large & X-Large bird toys come with nickel plated wide jaw links. You may also purchase Stainless Steel wide jaw links for an additional $1 per toy.

Paulie Rope
We use the bird safe Odyssey Paulie Rope. This product has been used on bird toys successfully in the Dallas area since 1994 with no reported injuries or confirmed deaths related to this product.
You can even disinfect Paulie Rope™ and it's dishwasher safe (be sure to NOT use detergent or Jet Dry type products).
These time-tested polyethylene fibers do not have a "memory" like other rope.
We have discovered that this prevents entrapment and limb strangulation caused by fibers such as nylon or polished cotton rope.
Paulie Rope™ is manufactured and tested under very stringent specifications for Odyssey Productions.
Paulie rope is made from polyethylene, which is a nontoxic property in the solid state so it is deemed safe to use in the manufacturing of bird toys.
Be sure to not confuse Odyssy Paulie Rope with nylon cord or other types of plastic cordage that are unsafe for birds.
Pear Links
All of our X-Small and Small bird toys come with nickel plated pear shape links. We can substitute the regular nickel plated quick links for no extra charge or the stainless steel links for $1.00 extra per toy.
Rawhide
We no longer sell toys made with rawhide due to recent reports of dogs getting sick from it. Since birds are much smaller, we do not want to put any birds at risk by including rawhide in any of our toys.
Rings
We use nickel plated welded and unwelded rings - NO split key rings!
Rope - Cotton
We offer both Supreme 100% cotton rope and all natural sisal rope on most rope toys. The toy descriptions will note what rope each toy is available in.
Stainless Steel Links
We offer stainless steel links for $1.00 extra per bird toy. You can also purchase several separately to reuse on all your bird toys.
Wire
We use stainless steel wire on all bird toys; Note: all wire should be removed as soon as the parts have been destroyed or when the bird has lost interest in the toy.
